UKSF Equipment for Abdominals

By UKSF on 24 March, 2022

Having strong abs is at the centre of most if not all training regimes. this can help with stability when performing difficult movements and can also aid with posture. If done correctly, abdominal exercises can be extremely beneficial wherever you are at your training level. this article explores the benefits of our equipment for any abdominal workout.

The first piece of equipment that we would recommend using is our UKSF ab mat.  this fantastic piece of equipment is designed so that you can get a full range of motion whilst performing core-based exercises. They’re designed to sit at the base of your lumbar spine which is just above your helps achieve full abdominal extension and allows users to go through full ranges of movement without compromise.

Kettlebells are renowned for an array of different benefits; this can also include improving balance and posture because of their centre of gravity kettlebell exercises usually require users to keep themselves in balance whilst using them. This in turn allows users to improve their core strength and therefore their balance which is a handy element when trying to improve strength.

Another fantastic piece of equipment which can aid in the build of core strength are wall balls. the principles of training that wall balls use our compound exercises which means using more than one muscle group at a time to achieve the movement. There are some exercises which users can do which targets core muscles in a high intensity environment. this in turn in turn increases the core muscle strength. For example, side throws.

We introduced the benefits of the GHDs a little while ago, however they can be used to activate your abs while working dynamically. If you fix your feet to the footboard with your toes facing upwards and lean back, this makes for a great ab workout. Alternatively, if you lie on the GHD facing downwards and fix your feet to the pads and bring your upper torso to a neutral. This allows users to activate their core.

If you’re looking for another use of barbells, look no further. Our barbells can be used in conjunction with compound movements to increase core strength. For example, the military press requires core engagement in order to lift the barbell overhead.

Another piece of UKSF equipment which you can use to aid in core strength is our range of rigs. whether your preference is the alpha or delta range, suspending yourself off the ground allows users to engage the core in a multitude of different ways. for small spaces we would recommend to the delta wall mounted pull up rack, Users to prop up set up whatever is convenient for them.
